Capital Campaign to Fight Food Insecurity

Each year, the Comstock Community Center provides on average 95,000 pounds of food through our food pantry program, our Commodities program, and our holiday food basket program. In total, we provide enough food for 14,000 people annually.

Today, we need your help to continue this vital work.

As demand for emergency food grows, so too does the need for space to store and organize these essential items. Currently, we have 15+ freezers & refrigerators stored in 6 different placed around the Community Center, we have 2 separate food areas where we store and stage food, and during the month of December we have to close our facility to normal activities in order to store our dry food and presents. We are operating at our maximum capacity and there is still demand for our services. To meet this challenge, we plan to build a dedicated auxiliary building that will house all our food programs, including:

      • Monthly Senior Commodities
      • Our Food Pantry
      • Holiday Food Baskets

We have launched a capital campaign to make this dream a reality. Our goal is to raise $400,000 to build and equip the auxiliary building, ensuring that we can sustain and expand our efforts to fight food insecurity. While we are currently seeking grant funding, your support is critical to reaching this goal. With your generosity, we can continue to provide hope and nourishment for those who need it most. From all of us at the Comstock Community Center, thank you for being a vital part of our mission.
