The Courter Memory Center (CMC), a division of the Comstock Community Center, provides daytime care for adults living with cognitive decline and dementia in a safe and welcoming environment. Staff are specially trained in the Teepa Snow Positive Approach to Care method to provide person-centered care focused on increasing socialization through storytelling, reminiscing, games, art, crafts, music, exercise, healthy movement, pet therapy, and so much more. All activities are designed with each program participant’s unique abilities in mind to provide proper levels of stimulation to support a high quality of life.

Participation in the CMC provides much needed respite support for family caregivers, giving them the time they need to take care of their own needs. Family members are a crucial part of the care team, and our staff meets regularly to support families, navigate care options, and support services in the community. Additionally, CMC staff provides dementia and caregiver focused education to the general community. With workshops focused on the signs and symptoms of dementia, communications tips, dementia caregiving, building a support network, self-care for the caregiver, and more, our team is able to customize a workshop to fit your group’s needs.
